Vallejo gets grant for anti-graffiti effort

Once taggers deface a surface with graffiti, Vallejo city officials and volunteers have vowed to paint it as soon as possible. In the fight against graffiti, the city will have a lot more cans of paint in its arsenal thanks to a $20,000 grant from State Farm Insurance.
State Farm officials will publicly present the funds Aug. 12 during a City Council meeting, said Vallejo Code Enforcement Manager Nimat Shakoor-Grantham.
